Ingredients:
1 can of refrigerated biscuits (10-count)
1 lb breakfast sausage
6 large eggs
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1½ cups milk
1 packet sausage gravy mix (or homemade sausage gravy)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
2. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain the excess grease and set the sausage aside.
3. Prepare the gravy according to the instructions on the gravy mix packet or use homemade sausage gravy. Keep warm.
4. Cut the biscuits into quarters and evenly spread them across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1 cup of milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the biscuit pieces.
6. Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the top of the eggs and biscuits, followed by 1½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
7. Pour the sausage gravy over the entire casserole, spreading it out evenly.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and the eggs are set.
9. Top with the remaining ½ cup of cheese in the last 5 minutes of baking, allowing it to melt.
10. Serve warm and enjoy this comforting breakfast casserole!
