Ingredients
Crust:
1 box Pillsbury ready-bake pie crusts (contains 2 rolled pie crusts)
Filling:
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound Italian sausage, casing removed
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for added flavor)
1/2 cup pepperoni slices (about 15–20 slices)
1 small onion, diced
1/2 bell pepper, diced (optional)
1/2 cup pizza or marinara sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Italian seasoning to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in a deep pie dish. Set the second crust aside for the top.
2. Cook the Meat: In a skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
3. Add Veggies: Add the diced onion and bell pepper (if using) to the skillet and cook until they are softened, about 3–4 minutes.
4. Assemble the Filling: Remove the skillet from heat and mix in 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella, the cheddar (if using), and the pizza or marinara sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
5. Fill the Pie: Pour the meat mixture into the prepared pie crust in the pie dish. Layer pepperoni slices over the top and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
6. Top with Crust: Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Seal and crimp the edges, then cut a few small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
7. Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
8. Serve: Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, and enjoy!
