Sausage Rolls

Ingredients:

 

1 lb (450g) ground sausage (use pork, turkey, or chicken sausage)

 

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (about 9-10 inches square)

 

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

 

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Optional: 1/4 cup breadcrumbs for added texture

 

Optional: 1 tsp mustard or paprika for extra flavor

 

 

Instructions:

 

1. Prepare the Sausage Mixture:

 

In a bowl, combine the sausage with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings like mustard or paprika for extra flavor. Mix well.

 

 

 

2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:

 

Lay out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into two equal strips.

 

 

 

3. Form the Rolls:

 

Divide the sausage mixture in half. Shape each half into a long log and place it along the edge of each puff pastry strip.

 

Roll the pastry over the sausage, sealing the edges by pressing down firmly. Use a bit of water along the edge if needed.

 

 

 

4. Cut and Egg Wash:

 

Cut each roll into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 inches long.

 

Place the rolls seam side down and brush each with the beaten egg.

 

 

 

5. Air Fry:

 

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.

 

Place the sausage rolls in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each roll.

 

Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.

 

 

 

6. Serve:
